Join us in celebrating our young apprentice chef, Alec Stemmier as he recreates the menu that won North the Award of Australian Culinary Federation North Queensland’s Restaurant of the Year.
We invite you to delight in a 3 course lunch with wines to match on the 18th of May at North. Under the scrupulous supervision of Executive Chef Aaron Habgood, Alec will create an entree, main course and dessert that wowed! the judges of the Australian Culinary Federation.
Alec Stemmier has been selected by the Australian Culinary Federation, at both the state and national levels, to represent Australia at the World Association of Chef’s Conference in Kuala Lumpur July 9th ~ 15th, 2018. So that Alec is able to compete at this international competition, Shangri-la Hotel, The Marina Cairns is assisting him in raising the required funds to secure his attendance.
The Australian Culinary Federation North Queensland is a voluntary organisation. For the past 25 years the Federation has been raising funds through functions, raffles and workshops to promote the cause of young chefs in the region. Collectively, our promotional efforts not only enhance the expertise and careers of the young chefs involved, but bring recognition and accolades to the culinary achievements of our entire region.
